It all started in the small village of Pacchegam, tucked in a remote corner of Gujarat. Growing up with challenging economic conditions, lack of resources, and few available alternatives, the sons of Kanchanben Ratilal Vora experienced firsthand the value of education and its immense impact in creating new opportunities.
With the mission to give back to their community, uplift and empower poverty-stricken areas in India, the Vora sons established the non-profit charitable trust, the Kanchan Foundation. In honor of their mother, Kanchanben Ratilal Vora, her sons always remembered who helped guide them to their success, emphasizing the importance of education.
Since its inception in 1998, the Kanchan Foundation continues to provide greater access to education, medical aid, and economic assistance in their hometown in Pachhegam — while extending its work to neighboring villages and cities including Bhavnagar, Dedhiyapada, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
Kanchan Foundation’s goal is to make education accessible to children and young adults, providing for an improved future. Recognizing the interplay of education opportunities, economic prosperity and a person’s well-being, Kanchan Foundation also carries out financial and medical initiatives.
Kanchan Foundation is regularly funded by family members and always welcomes donations from well wishers. While implementing these programs, it doesn’t discriminate on any grounds, including caste, religion, or gender. It was registered in Mumbai with charity commissioner of Maharashtra and is also registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Income tax relief to the donor’s u/s 80G of IT Act is available.
